New York to Nepal Earthquake Relief Walk

April 2016 - New York City

On April 25, 2015, Nepal was struck by a catastrophic 7.9 earthquake that changed the region forever. One year later iDEKO teamed up with the non-profit organization, Live to Love International, to honor the survivors of Nepal who are still facing the aftermath of this historic disaster and to create an awareness. Live to Love and iDEKO worked together to develop a commemorative 1.61 mile, “New York to Nepal Earthquake Relief Walk,” set along the East River Waterfront. iDEKO worked on all of the production including the permitting, route construction and logistical oversight. Over 40 different Himalayan organizations participated in this tremendous example of Nepali diversity and solidarity, which featured remarks from survivors as well as local and cultural leaders. iDEKO was honored to work with Live to Love and support the Nepali community in their continued efforts to restore and rebuild.
